Stability feels increasingly rare in our rapidly changing world. Plans dissolve, relationships evolve, and certainties shift beneath our feet. This is precisely why Malachi 3:6 offers such profound comfort: "For I am the LORD, I change not. Therefore, ye, sons of Jacob, are not consumed."

The concept of God's unchanging nature—theologians call it "immutability"—provides an unshakable foundation when everything else seems to be in flux. We explore three vital dimensions of this divine constancy: God's character remains eternally consistent (the same holiness, justice, and love demonstrated throughout Scripture continues unchanged today); His promises stand firm across generations (when God commits to something, we can trust its fulfillment without reservation); and perhaps most comforting, His love maintains its intensity throughout eternity—not the conditional or fluctuating affection we often experience in human relationships.

Scripture demonstrates this consistency throughout its narrative. From God's faithfulness to Israel despite their repeated disobedience to Jesus's unwavering compassion for the broken and marginalized, we see a God who remains steadfast. This divine consistency transforms our daily experience by providing stability amid chaos, strengthening our faith when challenges arise, and offering genuine comfort during our weakest moments. When everything else proves unreliable, God's unchanging character becomes our true north.

Take time today to reflect on what it means to serve a God who never changes. How might this truth reshape your approach to uncertainty? In what ways could anchoring yourself to His consistent character bring peace to your circumstances? The same God who has proven faithful throughout history remains just as faithful to you today.

In a world where everything seems to be constantly shifting our plans, relationships and even the seasons it is reassuring to know that God remains the same yesterday, today and forever.

Let us take a moment to unpack what it means for God to be unchanging. First, god's character never changes. The God who was holy, loving and just in the time of Abraham is the same God we worship today. His mercy and grace have no expiration date. Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 8, confirms this saying when God makes a promise, he keeps it. Numbers 23.19 reminds us. And three God's love is constant. Unlike human love, which can be conditional or fleeting, god's love is steadfast. Jeremiah, chapter 31, verse 3, tells us Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love. I have loved thee with an everlasting love. His unchanging nature guarantees that His love for you will never fade.

The Bible is filled with examples of God's unchanging nature. In the Old Testament, he remained faithful to Israel despite their repeated disobedience. He kept his covenant with Abraham and brought his people into the Promised Land. In the Gospels, jesus demonstrated God's unchanging love by healing the sick, forgiving sinners and ultimately giving his life on the cross. In our lives today, we see his consistency in the way he answers prayers, provides for our needs and offers us his peace.

How does knowing God never changes impact us? 1. It gives us stability. When life feels chaotic, we can anchor our hope in the unchanging God. Psalms 62, verse 6, says he only is my rock and my salvation. Two, it strengthens our faith. We can step forward in confidence, knowing the same God who was faithful in the past will be faithful in the future. And three, it brings us comfort. Even in our weakest moments, god's grace and mercy remains constant. We can rest in His unchanging care. Today, I encourage you to reflect on God's steadfast nature. Take some time to thank Him for being your unchanging source of love and faithfulness. As you face the uncertainties of life, let His unchanging character be your foundation. Thank you very much for joining us today on day 55. Hold on to the truth of Malachi 3.6. Our God never changes and because of that we can trust Him completely.
