Have you ever noticed how quickly your peace evaporates when you focus on everything going wrong around you? In this soul-nourishing episode, we dive deep into the transformative power of Hebrews 12:2 and what it truly means to fix our eyes on Jesus.

The ancient wisdom "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" isn't just a casual suggestion—it's a life-changing practice with profound implications for our daily experience. This phrase describes not just a quick glance but a steady, deliberate gaze that can fundamentally alter how we navigate life's challenges. When responsibilities pile up and distractions multiply, our natural tendency is to focus on the chaos. But like Peter walking on water, we stay afloat only as long as our attention remains fixed on Christ rather than the surrounding waves.

What does this focused gaze practically look like in your everyday life? We explore how remembering Jesus' character, trusting His word despite our emotions, and beginning each day with surrender creates an anchor for our souls. He remains constant when everything else shifts, unmoved by what shakes us, unsurprised by what surprises us. Whether you're walking through a valley or standing on a mountaintop, this episode offers practical wisdom for keeping your spiritual focus where it belongs. Jesus began the work in you, and He's more than capable of finishing it—you just need to keep your eyes on Him. Take a deep breath, refocus your attention, and discover the peace that comes when Jesus becomes your primary point of focus.

Speaker 1:

Fixing your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews 12, verse 2. That was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hello and welcome to day 170 of Faith for Every Day. Today, we are encouraged to shift our focus, to fix our eyes not on the chaos around us, not on our problems or fears, but squarely on Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Hebrews 12, verse 2 says Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. That phrase, looking unto, is not just a glance. It is a steady, deliberate gaze. It means choosing to focus on Jesus in every season. Whether you are on the mountaintop or walking through a valley, life has a way of pulling our attention in a hundred different directions. Responsibilities pile up, distractions multiply and, before we know it, our eyes are fixed on everything except the one who holds it all together. But Jesus is the author, the one who began your story. He is also the finisher, the one who will complete the work he started in you. That means you do not have to figure everything out on your own, you just need to keep your eyes on him. When Peter walked on water in the middle of the storm, he stayed afloat as long as his eyes were on Jesus, but the moment he started looking at the wind and waves, he began to sink. The same is true for us when we focus on the storm, we get overwhelmed, but when we focus on the Savior, we find peace. So what does it look like to fix your eyes on Jesus? It means remembering his character how loving, faithful and trustworthy he is. It means trusting his word worthy he is. It means trusting his word even when your emotions tell you otherwise. It means starting each day with a quiet moment of surrender, saying Lord, help me keep my eyes on you.

Speaker 1:

Today, it is easy to get distracted by deadlines, disappointments or even our own doubts, but in every situation, Jesus remains constant. He is not moved by what shakes us. He is not surprised by what surprises us. He sees the end from the beginning and he is guiding us every step of the way. If you feel weary today, if your faith feels shaky or your vision seems clouded, take a deep breath and fix your eyes again on Jesus. Let him remind you who he is, Let him anchor your heart. Let him anchor your heart. He began the work in you and he is more than able to finish it. Thank you very much for joining me for day 170 of Faith for Every Day. Whatever you are facing today, remember this you are not walking alone. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and let that focus carry you forward with strength and peace. See you next time and thank you for listening. Thank you.
