Faith for Everyday
God knows what He's thinking about you, even when you don't.
Have you ever felt lost in life's uncertainty, wondering if God has forgotten you? Today's episode explores the profound comfort found in Jeremiah 29:11, a verse that has anchored countless believers through storms of doubt and confusion.
We dive deep into this beloved promise - "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." This isn't just a feel-good verse; it's a divine guarantee spoken to people in exile, far from home and struggling to find hope. Just like the Israelites, we all experience seasons where we have more questions than clarity, where life's detours leave us disoriented. But the beautiful truth remains: God's plan for you is still unfolding, even when it feels hidden.
The power of this verse lies not just in what it promises but in who makes the promise. God isn't casually thinking about you - He knows His thoughts toward you. They're intentional, purposeful, and filled with peace. When we can't understand the "why" behind our circumstances, we can still trust the "who" orchestrating our lives. What appears as a setback might actually be positioning you for something far better than you could imagine. As we explore in this episode, the journey between confusion and clarity isn't wasted time - it's sacred space where God develops our faith and prepares us for our "expected end."
Take heart today. Whether you're walking through a valley or standing on a mountaintop, God is thinking about you. His plan for your life remains in motion, and His timing is perfect. Jeremiah 29, verse 11. Jeremiah 29, verse 11. Saith the LORD thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you unexpected end. Jeremiah 29, verse 11. Hello and welcome to day 173 of Faith for Every Day. Today's verse is a favorite for many people, and for a good reason Jeremiah 29, verse 11. It reminds us that no matter how uncertain life feels, god has a plan, and it is a good one. Let us be honest Life does not always go the way we had planned. There are twists, turns, setbacks and delays. Sometimes we wonder God, where are you in all of this? Or why is this happening now? But then we read these words, for I know the thoughts that I think towards you, not random thoughts, not second guessing. God knows his plans for you.
Speaker 1:The context of this verse is important. It was written to the Israelites while they were in exile. While they were in exile, they were far from home, discouraged and probably felt forgotten. Yet God spoke this powerful truth through the prophet Jeremiah, not just to comfort them, but to anchor them. He was saying even in this strange hard place, I have not abandoned you. I still have a plan.
Speaker 1:Maybe you are in a place right now that feels confusing. Maybe you are waiting for answers or trying to make sense of some why things are unfolding the way they are. You are not alone. We are all through seasons where we have more questions than clarity. But there is the good news God's plan is still unfolding, even when it feels hidden.
Speaker 1:This verse tells us that God's thoughts towards us are of peace and not of evil. That means His heart is full of love and purpose for you. His goal is to give you an expected end, another way of saying, a future filled with hope. You may not understand the why right now, but you can still trust the who. God sees the big picture. He is not surprised by detours or delays. What may feel like a setback could actually be a step up for something better than you had imagined.
Speaker 1:So how do we trust God's plan when we cannot see it clearly? We stay close to Him. We keep praying, reading His word and walking in obedience. We lean into His promises even when the path feels foggy, and we remind ourselves often that His thoughts are higher than ours and His timing is always perfect. Thank you very much for joining me for day 173 of Faith. For Every Day, whatever season you are in, whether it is one of clarity or confusion. Know this God is thinking about you. His plan for you and your life are still in motion. Trust him. Even when you cannot see or trace him, he is faithful to bring you to the expected end. Until next time, keep walking by faith and keep trusting God's heart. Thank you very much for listening.
