Temptation comes knocking on everyone's door. Whether it's anger, lust, dishonesty, greed, or discouragement, these spiritual challenges are universal. But what makes all the difference is how we respond.

Drawing from 1 Corinthians 10:13, we explore the reassuring truth that whatever temptation you face today isn't unique to you—it's "common to man." That knowledge alone removes one of the enemy's most powerful weapons: isolation. More importantly, this Scripture reveals God's twofold promise that transforms how we approach these daily battles. First, He guarantees that no temptation will ever exceed what you can handle with His help. Second, He always provides an escape route. The question isn't whether a way out exists—it's whether we'll recognize and take it.

We dig into practical strategies for victory, examining Joseph's example of simply running rather than reasoning with temptation. Like Jesus in the wilderness, we discover how Scripture becomes our offensive weapon, while prayer keeps us spiritually alert. Sometimes God's promised escape route appears through a trusted friend or accountability partner who speaks truth when we need it most. Each successfully resisted temptation isn't just avoiding sin—it's actively building spiritual muscle and proving that Christ's power within us exceeds any pull against us. Today, view temptation not as an impossible obstacle but as an opportunity to experience God's faithfulness and grow in victory. What temptation will you overcome today?

The First Quarantine, step 10, verse 13. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able, but will, with the temptation, also make a way to escape, that ye might be able to bear it. Hello and welcome to day 188 of Faith for Every Day. Today we are talking about something that every believer faces, and that is temptation. None of us are immune to it, but God's word gives us hope and assurance in how we can respond. Paul reminds the Corinthians and to us today, that temptation is not unique to one of us. There had no temptation taken you for such as is common to man. This means that whatever you are facing, someone else has faced it before. You are not alone and, more importantly, you are not without help. Temptation itself is not sin, but yielding to it is. That is why the Lord, in his faithfulness, promises two things in this verse. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to endure. He will also provide a way to escape. This truth changes how we approach moments of weakness when temptation comes knocking, whether it is anger, lust, dishonesty, greed or discouragement. We can remember that God has already prepared a path of victory. The question is whether he will look for that way out and take it. So how does fleeing from temptation look like in daily life? Run, do not reason.

Speaker 1:

When Joseph was tempted by Potiphar's wife, he did not stop to argue or rationalize he fled. Sometimes, the most spiritual thing to do is to remove yourself from the situation. Strengthen yourself in God's word. Jesus overcame temptation in the wilderness by quoting scripture the word is your sword in battle. Pray for God's strength. Before his arrest, jesus urged his disciples watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. Prayer keeps us alert and dependent on God. Surround yourself with accountability. Sometimes the way of escape comes through a trusted friend, a mentor or a brother or sister in Christ who encourages you to stand firm.

Speaker 1:

Temptation will always be a part of our earthly journey, but so will God's faithfulness. Every time you resist, you are not just avoiding sin, you are growing stronger in faith. Sin. You are growing stronger in faith, building character and proving that Christ's power in you is greater than the enemy's pull on you. So today, do not see temptation as an impossible obstacle, but as an opportunity to rely on God to grow in victory. Thank you very much for joining me for the 188th of Faith for Every Day. Remember this temptation is real, but so is God's faithfulness. When trials come, look for ways out that he has promised and walk in His strength Until next time. Keep living your faith, keep growing in grace and always trust that God has equipped you to stand strong in every test. Thank you very much for listening you.
