What does it truly mean to follow in the footsteps of Jesus? Today's powerful devotional takes us straight to Luke 19:10, where Jesus declares His divine mission: "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Through the compelling story of Zacchaeus, we discover how Jesus looked beyond societal labels and reputations to see the heart of a man in need of grace. This tax collector, despised by many, encountered the transformative love of Christ—and his life was forever changed. This story serves as both inspiration and blueprint for our own faith journey. When we truly understand Christ's mission, we realize it's now our mission too.

The good news isn't meant to be hoarded but shared. You don't need theological credentials or missionary status to participate in this holy work. Your testimony—your authentic story of how God has worked in your life—could be exactly what opens someone's heart to the gospel. Those simple acts of kindness, listening ears, and compassionate hearts create pathways for deeper spiritual conversations. Remember that reaching out isn't just about human kindness; it's about pointing people to Jesus as the source of true transformation.

As you go about your day, consider this powerful truth: every soul matters to God. No one is beyond His reach, and He may choose to use you as the bridge to bring someone closer to Him. Your witness has more power than you know. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to those around you who may be lost and searching. Be ready to share the hope within you. In doing so, you walk in the very footsteps of Jesus, participating in His divine mission of seeking and saving the lost.

Reaching out to the lost Luke 19.10. But a son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19, verse 10. Hello and welcome to day 230 of Faith for Every Day. Today's focus takes us right to the heart of the mission of Jesus Christ reaching out to the lost. Luke 19, verse 10 records these powerful words from our Savior, for the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. This verse comes from the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector, who was despised by many. Yet Jesus looked beyond his reputation and saw his need. He reached out to Zacchaeus and his life was forever changed.

Reaching out to the lost is not just something Jesus did, it is something he has called us, his followers. To continue To reach the lost means to see people the way Jesus sees them, not defined by their failures, mistakes or sins, but as precious souls in need of God's grace. But as precious souls in need of God's grace, think about the people around you, at work, in your neighborhood or even within your family. Some may not know the Lord, they may feel far from God, yet you have the opportunity to reflect Christ's love to them. Sometimes it starts with something simple, a kind word, a listening ear or an act of compassion. But we must also remember that reaching out is not just about kindness. It is about pointing people to Jesus.

Speaker 1:
