Life loves to grade us on speed, visibility, and wins but Hebrews 12 offers a different metric: endurance. We’re talking about the faith that keeps moving when you’re tired, when progress is slow, and when your path looks nothing like someone else’s. If you’ve felt stuck in the middle of your story or tempted to quit because the hype is gone, this is your reminder that you’re not failing, you’re training for a long race.

We walk through Hebrews 12:1–2 and the picture of “running with patience” by laying aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely. We get practical about what those weights can look like in real life: fear, distractions, bitterness, and even busyness that crowds out what matters most. We also talk about pacing yourself with steady, faithful steps, including simple daily time with God, even if it’s only a few quiet minutes of prayer.

And if you’ve tripped, taken a detour, or feel like you’ve fallen too far behind, we lean into hope: God is a God of second chances. You’re not called to run alone, and you’re not disqualified by a wrong turn. Listen, then share this with someone who needs a lift, and if it encourages you, subscribe and leave a review so more people can find it.

Running your race with endurance. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1. Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1. Welcome to day 87 of Faith for Everyday. Today we are talking about staying in the race, not just starting strong, but finishing well. In Hebrews chapter 12, verse 1, it tells us to run with patience the race that is set before us. Notice, it does not say sprint. It also does not say compare your race with someone else's. It says run with patience the race God has specifically set before you. That means your journey may look different than someone else's, and that is okay. What matters is that you keep going. You know, life can feel like a race sometimes, right? There are hills, valleys, detours, and delays. Sometimes you feel energized and full of purpose, and other times you feel like you are barely moving forward. That is where patience or endurance comes in. Endurance is what keeps you running when the crowd is gone. The excitement has faded, and you are wondering if it is even worth running. But God says, keep going, I am with you every step of the way. Here are a few ways to run your race with endurance. Stay focused on Jesus. In Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2, it tells us to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He knows what it means to endure. When you feel like quitting, look to Him. Also, drop the weight. Earlier in that same verse we read before, we were told to lay aside every weight and sin. What is slowing you down? Maybe it is fear, distractions, bitterness, or even busyness. Let it go and run free. Pace yourself. Endurance is not about doing everything all at once. It is about steady and faithful progress. Spend time in God's presence daily, even if it is just a few minutes of quiet prayer. Do not run alone. God did not design us to run this race by ourselves. Surround yourself with people and others who encourage you, challenge you, and remind you of the finish line. And hey, if you have tripped, fallen, or you took a wrong turn in your race, it is not too late. God is a God of second chances. Just get back up and keep moving forward. Remember, it is about how you finish and not how fast you run. It is about staying faithful to the one who called you to run in the first place. Thank you very much for joining me today on day 87 of faith for every day. Whatever part of your race you are in right now, beginning in the middle or feeling stuck, God is cheering you on. Keep your eyes on Him, keep your heart open, and just keep going. Until next time, run well, run with grace, and never forget, you are not alone. Thank you very much for listening.
