Dealing with anxiety. Philippians chapter 4 verse 6 to 7. Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Hello and welcome to day 99 of Faith for Every Day. Today we are going to talk about something that affects so many people today. Anxiety. Maybe you are feeling in right now. It could be worry about your future, concern over your family, financial stress, or a heaviness you cannot quite explain. Anxiety is real and it is exhausting. But God's word offers us a way through. In Philippians chapter 4, verse 6 to 7, Paul writes, Be careful for nothing. That means do not be anxious or overly worried. And instead of letting fear take over, we are invited to take every concern straight to God by prayer and supplication and thanksgiving. Let us slow that down. Paul says, in everything, not just the big emergency or the spiritual issues. Prayer. God wants to hear all of it. Your silent worries, bring them. Your overwhelming schedule, bring it. Even that situation you think God is probably too busy to care about. Yes, bring that too. Why? Because He cares. But here is what I love most about this passage. It tells us that God gives in exchange. When we release anxiety to Him, He gives us something far better, which is peace. Not ordinary peace, not temporary calm, but the peace of God which passeth all understanding. It is the kind of peace that does not always make sense to people around you. It is the peace that steadies your heart even when the storm is still raging outside. So, how do we live out this anxiety when it shows up? 1. Be honest with God. You do not need perfect words. Just speak to Him from your heart. 2. Be specific in prayer. Tell God exactly what you need. Do not be vague, Paul said. Make your request known. Also, thank him in the process. Gratitude shifts your focus from fear to faith, even before the answer comes. Thank God for his love, his power, and his presence. Also, let go and trust. The peace comes after we pray, after we release the burden. Trust God with what you cannot control. Anxiety may try to visit your life, but it does not have to stay. With God, you do not have to walk around weight down. You can walk in peace even while the questions remain, even while you wait, even while things are uncertain. Let His peace guide your heart and your mind today. Let it be the anchor you hold on to as you stay steady. Thank you very much for joining me for day 99 of faith for every day.
