You can do the right things and still feel like nothing is happening. That slow, silent stretch can make you question your impact in ministry, parenting, evangelism, or simply trying to live a life that honors God. We come back to a single verse that steadies the heart: 1 Corinthians 3:6. Paul says, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase” and that picture becomes a reset for anyone worn out by delayed results.

We talk through what it means to be faithful in the “planting” season and what it looks like to “water” what someone else began. Sometimes you’re the first person to speak truth into a life. Other times you’re the steady encourager who keeps showing up. Both roles matter, and neither role controls the outcome. The key takeaway is simple and freeing: we do our part with obedience and love, but only God can change hearts, grow spiritual fruit, and bring lasting transformation in His time and in His way.

If you’re discouraged because you cannot see progress yet, this devotional offers a grounded kind of hope. Growth often happens beneath the surface before it ever shows up above ground, and God sees every quiet act of faithfulness. If this encouraged you, subscribe for more, share it with a friend who needs strength today, and leave a review so more people can find the show.

Welcome And Core Theme

SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome to day 138 of faith for every day. Today's devotional is about something every believer needs to understand, and that is trust in God to use your efforts.

Paul’s Picture Of Growth

SPEAKER_01

In 1 Corinthians 3, verse 6, Paul says, I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. That short verse packs a big truth. We are called to do our part, but it is God who brings the result.

When Results Feel Too Slow

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes we can become frustrated when we do not see the instant result from our work, whether it is sharing the gospel, raising your children, serving a church, or simply trying to live a life that honors God. We may wonder, am I even making a difference? The answer is yes, but not always, in ways we can see right away. Just like planting a seed, our job is to be faithful. God is the one who causes things to grow in his time and in his way. Let us think through some simple truth from this verse.

Planters And Waterers In Real Life

SPEAKER_01

You may be the planter. You might be the first person to speak book or truth into someone's life. You might be the one who waters. You could be encouraging, teaching, or supporting what someone else started.

Only God Changes Hearts

SPEAKER_01

But only God gives the increase. No matter how talented or dedicated we are, it is God who changes the heart and produces lasting fruit.

Don’t Mistake Silence For Nothing

SPEAKER_01

So do not be discouraged. Just because you do not see growth now does not mean nothing is happening. Imagine someone coming to Christ years after you speak a kind word or share your testimony. Maybe they will remember your faithfulness long after you have forgotten that moment, or maybe your encouragement will keep someone going through a hard season. God sees it all.

Keep Going Beneath The Surface

SPEAKER_01

Thank you very much for joining me today for day 138 of faith for every day. Keep planting, keep watering, do not give up just because you do not see the instant result. Trust that God is working beneath the surface. The harvest is coming, and it will be worth
