Faith for Everyday
Faith for Everyday is a daily podcast dedicated to guiding youth through modern challenges with timeless Biblical wisdom. Each approximately 10-minute episode offers scriptural insights and practical encouragement to strengthen faith in everyday life. New episodes are released daily.
Spending time in God’s Word is essential for spiritual growth, yet many people struggle with where to start. Some feel intimidated by the Bible’s depth, while others become discouraged or overwhelmed by life’s challenges. If you’ve ever felt that way, this devotional is for you.
"Faith for Every Day" is designed as a simple yet powerful guide to help you engage with Scripture daily. You don’t have to start on January 1st—this podcast is meant to be picked up at any time of the year. Each daily devotion stands on its own, addressing real-life struggles while pointing you back to God’s truth.
Throughout this journey, we will explore topics such as anxiety, depression, rejection, and uncertainty—struggles that are all too common today. But you’re not alone. The Bible is filled with stories of people who faced similar challenges and found strength in God. By looking at their experiences, we can find encouragement, hope, and guidance for our own lives.
Whether you’re a new believer seeking direction or a seasoned Christian looking for fresh inspiration, this podcast will meet you where you are. My prayer is that as you go through these devotionals, you will be encouraged to dig deeper into God’s Word, grow in faith, and draw closer to Him daily.
Let’s embark on this journey together—one day at a time, one step closer to God.
Faith for Everyday
Fix Your Eyes On Jesus
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Your attention is not neutral, it is forming your faith every day. When life pulls your mind in a hundred directions, we come back to one clear anchor: “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). This Day 170 devotional from Faith for Every Day is a short reset for anyone who feels distracted, anxious, or spiritually worn down, and it offers a simple path back to steady ground.
We talk through what it really means to “look unto” Jesus, not a quick glance, but a deliberate, sustained focus that holds in every season. We reflect on why it matters that Jesus is both the author who began your story and the finisher who will complete what he started. That truth cuts through the pressure to solve everything alone, and it replaces frantic striving with trust, endurance, and calm.
We also revisit the vivid moment when Peter walks on water. He stays steady while his eyes are on Jesus, and he starts to sink when he fixates on the wind and waves. It is a mirror for our own lives: focus on the storm and we feel overwhelmed; focus on the Savior and we find peace. We close with practical ways to refocus, remembering Jesus’ character, trusting his word when emotions argue, and starting the day with a quiet prayer of surrender.

Hebrews 12:2 Read Aloud
Fixing your eyes on Jesus. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Shift Your Focus To Jesus
Hello and welcome to Day 170 of Faith for Every Day. Today we are encouraged to shift our focus, to fix our eyes not on the chaos around us, not on our problems or fears, but squarely on Jesus. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2 says, Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
What A Steady Gaze Means
That phrase looking unto is not just a glance, it is a steady, deliberate gaze. It means choosing to focus on Jesus in every season. Whether you are on the mountaintop or walking through a valley, life has a way of pulling our attention in a hundred different directions. Responsibilities pile up, distractions multiply, and before we know it, our eyes are fixed on everything except the one who holds it all together. But Jesus is the author, the one who began your story. He is also the finisher, the one who will complete the work he started in you. That means you do not have to figure everything out on your own. You just need to keep your eyes on him.
Peter Walks When He Looks
When Peter walked on water in the middle of the storm, he stayed afloat as long as his eyes were on Jesus. But the moment he started looking at the wind and waves, he began to sink. The same is true for us. When we focus on the storm, we get overwhelmed. But when we focus on the Savior, we find peace.
Simple Habits For Daily Surrender
So what does it look like to fix your eyes on Jesus? It means remembering his character, how loving, faithful, and trustworthy he is. It means trusting his word, even when your emotions tell you otherwise. It means stradding each day with a quiet moment of surrender, saying, Lord, help me keep my eyes on you today. It is easy to get distracted by deadlines, disappointments, or even our own doubt. But in every situation, Jesus remains constant. He is not moved by what shakes us. He is not surprised but what surprises us. He sees the end from the beginning, and he is guiding us every step of the way.
Recenter When Faith Feels Shaky
If you feel weary today, if your faith feels shaky or your vision seems clouded, take a deep breath and fix your eyes again on Jesus. Let him remind you who he is. Let him anchor your heart. He began the work in you, and he is more than able to finish it.
Final Encouragement And Goodbye
Thank you very much for joining me for day 170 of faith for every day. Whatever you are facing today, remember this you are not walking alone. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and let that focus carry you forward with strength and peace. See you next time, and thank you for listening.
